The WordPress Daily Prompt provides the theme of Droll. As a Dutch-born punster, this is just too much to resist!
There are a number of words in the English language that make Dutch boys guffaw with suppressed delight, as their homonyms in Dutch have a meaning that is not part of polite dinner conversation. It’s the perfect excuse to use a dirty word, as it’s a foreign language!
So when I saw the word Droll, the opportunity presented itself to post about its Dutch homonym, Drol; it’s certainly not among the worst words in the language, but nonetheless capable of evoking a snicker, as it means turd.
And, would you believe that exactly 4 years ago, I photographed this masterpiece?
This came about on a trip to Chincoteague, where we photographed the horses and much more!
It was a rather pedestrian day, as clouds and sun battled for dominance of the sky above, until I chanced upon the scene of the crime. I didn’t expect it at all. As I walked back to my infernal machine (it’s not just a pickup truck to me), between two cars, there it was…
Without regard for carbonation, or the tenderly printed ‘Loved One’ on the side of one can, the potential for refreshment had been stomped out, like a protester in Tiananmen Square. The parking lot was filled with danger that day!
When I saw today’s Daily Post Prompt of Treasure, there were numerous images that popped up in my mind: they ranged form shiny to beautiful! And, then, I thought about a slightly different approach: recognizing the intrinsic value to our souls…
This is when the following image came to mind and put a smile on my face, that I thought might be worth sharing with each of you.
These cows bring good karma to us all! They vie for our attention and return it with appreciation.
If you’d like to bring this karma-generator into your house, please check them in Etsy!
As I saw today’s Daily Prompt of ‘Abandoned’, I immediately thought of an image from a couple of years ago…
This poor onion had been left all alone in the icy parking lot of a pizzeria. Had it tried to escape being taken apart by a sharp knife on a food preparation table? Or had it been evicted from the premises after a tearful goodbye?
Unfortunately, the onion declined to comment, so I will never know the answer.
Hope you enjoy this image!

The 3 Day Quote Challenge
This is the first day of the 3-day quote challenge that I was given by Mysticalwriter. First of all thank you for given me the challenge. My plan is to use one of my photos each day and find some quote to go with the photo.
Today’s quote is from one of my favorite light-versed poets, Ogden Nash; his wit is always a lot of fun!
Here are the rules:
One quote a day for three days. They can be your quotes or quotes from other people. Post one a day for three days and nominate three bloggers per post. Also, thank the person that nominated you.
