Tuesday Photo Challenge – Color of Love

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Welcome to Week 44 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge. After such a great set of contributions for last week’s theme of Mirror, I definitely felt the pressure to come up with another worthy theme…

But then, I do have a little help today, as it is Valentine’s Day, which for many of us is a reminder of love!  That’s why this week’s theme is the Color of Love.

Note that I’m not telling you which color to use for this challenge, as it’s not the same color for each of us; what I do challenge you to accomplish in your image(s) is that you portray something about love in it (them).  Plenty of freedom to be creative, which I think each of you is highly capable of accomplishing!

When I think about what color represents love for me, I tend to go towards the warmth that we feel with love; warm tones that feel like an embrace from someone really special, an embrace that you would like to have last for time eternal…

Autumn Serenity

As you can tell in this image, Autumn colors were in full regalia; it is a season that I truly love, especially with a bit of Sun playing through the foliage, drawing that soft focus out of me.  Soft, warm, loving…

The full rules of this challenge are in TPC Guidelines, but here’s the tl;dr:

  • Write a post with an image for this week’s topic
  • Please tag your post with fpj-photo-challenge (if you’re not sure about how tags work, please check out this WordPress article about tagging posts)
  • Create a pingback link to this post, so that I can create a post showing all of the submissions over the week (note: pingbacks may not appear immediately, as my site is set up to require approval for linking to it; helps against previous bad experiences with spamming)
  • Have fun creating something new (or sharing something old)!!

I know that I am going to love all of your contributions to this week’s challenge.  Let love be your guide, and may you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

  • Have fun.

Happy three-lining!

The Kiss

There was another image that came to mind immediately, when I saw the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge theme of One Love, so I wanted to make sure that I shared it with you.

One Love!

This is one of the images from a wedding I shot for my friends, Matt and Traci.  Wedding photography presents some interesting challenges, in that you have to be 100% in the moment at all times, so that you catch those special little moments that permeate the occasion.

Such was the case in this (unposed) shot, as I had a sense of what was about to happen and caught the moment.  I’m fairly confident that this is still Matt and Traci’s favorite image from their wedding, as it sums it all up: One Love!

Technical Details

I shot this with my Canon EOS 5D Mk II using a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L USM lens.  Additional light was provided using a Canon 580EX Speedlite with settings of f/5 at 1/100 second and 640 ISO.

Keeping a lady waiting

The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge gave the prompt: One Love.  Of course, Bob Marley told us to “Let’s get together and feel all right”, which is always a great idea!  Hope you enjoy my take on this theme…

Waiting…

That ‘One Love’ can leave us waiting with ever-waning patience for their arrival, wondering where they might be; should we be worried for their safety or are they delayed in the arms of a rival?  Will they receive our embrace or the sharpened edge of our tongue?

What we do for that ‘One Love’… until we can hand ourselves over to them to be together in complete bliss!

Technical Details

This image was captured during a model shoot for fashion and jewelry.  I shot this with my Canon EOS 5D Mk II using a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens.  This was shot using just the natural light available through the window using f/2.5 at 1/160 second and 640 ISO.
