This is the day that we, Liverpool F.C. fans, have been waiting for over the past month! Yes, we’ve known for a while that we could not be caught in the standings, but it’s all about the presentation of the Premier League trophy to start the full celebration. This one will be even sweeter, as the last celebration was muted due to the Covid pandemic in 2020.
As I’ve had the pleasure of both visiting the city of Liverpool and attend games at Anfield, I wanted to share a couple of those moments with you.
This is where it all takes place…
Taking the tour of Anfield is a great experience and a must for all fans! Where else are you able to touch the same sign that many players do, as they walk toward the pitch?
My first visit to Anfield was in 2019, during the first half of the season that saw Liverpool win their first Premier League title in a long time! The game that night was a tense affair…
Early in the first half, the Spurs took the lead 0-1 from a Harry Kane goal. In the second half, Jordan Henderson scored the equalizer and Mohamed Salah put us ahead in the 75th minute from the penalty spot. A great result and a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium.
And of course, there is the iconic moment before each match at Anfield…
Gerry and the Pacemakers with their tune from the musical Carousel…You’ll Never Walk Alone, sang by a stadium full of fans! I recorded this before the game of my second visit to Anfield in 2021. That night, we took care of Arsenal in heavy metal fashion with a solid 4-0 win!
It doesn’t get any better!
