As we’re closing in on Earth Day, I thought that I’d share some previous posts on the theme of our mother planet.
This weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge has the theme of Earth, which is appropriate, given that Saturday is Earth Day. So I figured that I would do a weeklong series of different views of the Earth that I have experienced. Feel free to join in with the fun!
In this third episode, we take a trip to one of the marvels of this planet: Iceland. Its location at the northern end of the mid-Atlantic ridge, the meeting place of the North-American and Eur-Asian tectonic plates, provides for an unusual landscape filled with geothermal and volcanic features.
These images are from my short trip to Iceland in 2015, which gave me a taste for the wonders that fill this island. I’m very much looking forward to go back one day to properly explore Iceland with my camera.
