I can tell you that the new job (the reason for my trip to Israel) is still more than a plateful of work, as I’m slowly getting my arms around more and more aspects of it. Given that there are also a couple of moving targets in this, I can tell you that I have my hands full and am putting in a bit of extra effort at this time 🙂 It feels somewhat like the proverb “Be careful what you ask for, as you might get it”; of course, this could end up not being a proverb at all…
As a result, I’m taking a bit of a shortcut on this Warped Wednesday and am tying it back to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge of It IS Easy Being Green!

Welcome to Week 49 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge. After a week of great entries in response to the challenge theme of Curve, I’m energized to be back home for the next iteration of our fun challenge!
This week, I think it is time to celebrate Spring, as it has just arrived in the Northern Hemisphere and I think many of us are ready for the warmer days and the colors that arrive with the season. In the Southern Hemisphere, feel free to look back (or forward) to Spring and share your thoughts.
As always, feel free to be creative in your interpretation of the theme, and be sure to put your best effort into creating something evocative in your images. I’m looking forward to seeing your great posts!

This iphoto came from wandering around on a farm, where my wife was training one of our dogs. This little lamb had not been accepted by its mother, so it needed bottle-feeding.

Yes, the time of year has arrived that we start celebrating Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, whereas the beautiful Autumn season descends upon the Southern Hemisphere.
Spring is all about renewal and hope, and looking forward to warmer days! In New England, it doesn’t quite look like warmer days yet, as there’s still a significant snow cover from last week’s storm. So, I’ll give you an image to look forward to…
Monarch Butterfly
This beautiful Monarch will be returning to these parts in the next couple of months, as a true harbinger of Summer! Im looking forward to it!
After a great 10 days of work in Israel, which were highly successful in building a connection with my new team, it is great to be home again! It’s great to be able to hug my wife, sleep in the bed that my body recognizes as home, a sleep in late with the dogs.
That said, I’m looking forward to getting some more time in the future to explore Israel beyond what I have seen thus far; I’ve seen some pretty sights, but haven’t had the time yet to take a trip to Jerusalem and absorb some of the antiquity and spiritual richness of that city. Of course, there’s the Dead Sea and plenty of other sights to visit.
Mediterranean Beauty
Here’s another look at the beach in Herzliyah, which is just a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea.
It’s a great place to visit, but there’s no place like home!
As walks along the beach have been an excellent fixture of my time here in Herzliyah, I thought it might be interesting to share a night view from this week with you.
As the beach here has a promenade, it also provides wonderful access for all to the beach. One of the access points is a pair of towers that has elevators to facilitate access…

While I’m still in Israel for a couple of days and missing a beauty of a snow storm that is battering New England, I thought there might be time for a quick Warped Wednesday before we get to Thursday haiku (yes, I’ve been writing them for over a year now and some are pretty decent). As I was poking around through some of my more abstract work, my eye caught one shot from December 2016 that could use a bit of a treatment.
This image was taken during a walk through Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge, which I always enjoy. The swollen Nashua river provided a rich source for adjusted reflections…

The contrast between the branch rising above the river amidst the reflections of trees on the opposite shore caught my eye enough to capture this image. What I did with it in post processing is to add a bit of surreal, dreamy quality to it in PhotoShop Express on the iPad; this lends it a bit more ability to draw in the eye and allow it to keep this loosely focused ephemeral grasp on the mind.

Welcome to Week 48 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge. I had a lot of fun reading all your entries for last week’s challenge of Bloom, which was filled with beauty from all over the world.
This week, I’m going into a bit of a different direction. Since today is Pi day (3/14), I thought that something that relates to Pi might be appropriate. Hence, your challenge theme this week is Curve. Curves are everywhere in the world around us, from leading curves in a great landscape to the beautiful curves of a car.
As always, feel free to be creative in your interpretation of the theme, and be sure to put your best effort into creating something evocative in your images. There should be plenty of curves all around for you to capture and present in a novel way.

This image came from a day at a car show, when I was struck by the hood ornament and the various shades of blue coming together. I thought it would be nice for the jet to be flying through the sky!
