Crossing into tomorrow…

Welcome to week 213 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge!

You spread the love in your entries for last week’s theme, so I’ll now take you just a little bit into the future. As I looked through candidate images for this week, I came across one that made me think of what Tomorrow might bring. Is it an exciting sense of exploration, the opportunity to discover what lies ahead?

For this week your challenge is to share images that give you a sense of what tomorrow might hold in store; feel free to be fanciful and imaginative. This is one where I very much look forward to seeing what Tomorrow will bring!

As I let my mind’s eye guide me across the bridge…

This shot came about during a walk with my great friend, George, architect and photographer extraordinaire! The light caught my eye as it played across the pine needles and brought variety of tone and color between foreground and background. Locking in on the branch, this composition came about.

A trip into darkness…

Welcome to week 205 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge!

What the world needs now… No, I’m not breaking out into a Hal David and Burt Bacharach pop tune! During this time of social distance, it is more important than ever that we connect with one another. I thought the theme of Connect might make a lot of sense. So, your challenge is to capture anything that either connects or with which you feel connected.

The only requirement to your interpretation of the theme is that you have fun with it (and be safe). So let’s connect through our images!

This bridge makes a connection between two shores…

Yes, you guessed it: there was a bit of editing involved. In a case, such as this, I look to portray the mood or concept that I want to express in an image. I originally shot this well-graffitied bridge as a series of varying exposures to have all the data I needed for HDR processing. After processing the basics in Aurora HDR, I jumped into Photoshop. With the help of the Luminar 4 plugin, I changed the look of the bridge, and added a different sky. A bit more magic in Photoshop to skew the metal of this bridge in a slightly altered shape completed the mood to create this Surreal Connection. For the purists, I agree with you that this is no longer a photo, but that was not what I was after…

Sometimes a bridge provides us with quiet reflection…

During a morning exploration, I found this beautiful new bridge that makes up part of a trail system. On this particular day, the river was smooth as glass, allowing for a crisp, clean reflection.

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Bridge

Welcome to Week 83 of the Tuesday Photo Challenge.

You definitely showed the importance of keeping track of all things, including the Kitchen sink, in last week’s contributions! They were absolutely stunning!

This week’s theme came pretty easily to me, as I came up with the theme before looking at images; once I had the theme, finding the image was a piece of cake! In the current environment of discord and lack of connections, I thought that the theme of Bridge might be appropriate.

Of course, bridge is both a noun and a verb, which means that you can take this theme into any direction of your choosing! Unleash your creative urges and find the place to cross the chasm with your bridge! Most of all, have fun with it!

Here’s that image that came to mind right away…

This wonderful aqueduct was part of my daily commute to one of my prior jobs; it always caught my attention, as it has such classic lines in its construction. On this particular day, the light showed of some its great qualities to create a complete scene.
